Organic Image 03
1930s. The Senghenydd Crate
Amongst the finds of The Senghenydd Crate were a series of 14 small photographic images, mounted upon a thin piece of dark wood.
These images appear to depict a variety of organic forms although the nature of the photographic techniques used and indeed the subject matter of these images remains a subject of intense debate.
Some researchers have noted the similarity of these images to fauna from the Paleolithic era and have suggested they might represent an early form of X Ray developed by Sir Cyril Fox and his team to see into delicate rock and mineral formations that would not withstand traditional fossil-hunting techniques.
