Rigara Combat

1926. The Senghenydd Crate.

FINGER FIGHTING

As Fox reviewed evidence from the 1926 site, he came to believe that it was not
a village but a place where humans and animals fought in ritual combat. His notes draw attention to the existence of human, Rigara and bear remains in the central pit.

This is one of several drawings from the notebooks where Fox appears to be exploring possible uses of the site.

Following the discovery of the Crate, efforts have been to locate where this excavation took place. So far no evidence of the site has been found.
